András has a wide knowledge of EU policies, institutions and communication, his career having included seven years’ experience at the European Commission’s Secretariat General and President Barroso’s briefing team, and the European Court of Justice. Fluent in English, French and Spanish, he holds an M.A. in law and political sciences and the degree of Master of European Public Administration from the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium. Prof. Alberto ALEMANNO
Alberto’s Role or Title
A Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law & Risk Regulation at Europe’s no. 1 business school for executives, HEC-Paris, Alberto is an expert on EU decision-making, law and regulatory affairs. He is the editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Risk Regulation (EJRR). Graduate of Harvard University with an LLM degree, he is an Attorney at law and was admitted to the New York State Bar in November 2004. Alberto received a 2011 Chauncey Starr Distinguished Award by the Society for Risk Analysis for the most exceptional contributions to the field of risk analysis by a scholar aged 40 or under. His research interests lie in European Law, Regulation, International Economic Law, WTO law and International Trade, Global Competition Law & Policy, Public Administration Reform (Risk Regulation & Regulatory Reform), Food Law, International Environmental Law, EU Regulation and Governance, Transatlantic dialogue, Dispute Settlement, Comparative Constitutional Law. Alberto’s lectures have been featured on iTunes U, Apple’s unique and free offering of high quality academic lectures to the wider public.

The best-known blogger on EU affairs in Brussels and beyond, Jon is a social media expert, partner in techPolitics LLP and a lecturer and training coordinator explaining the European Union to UK civil servants and developing eLearning packages. His work experience includes the EU Energy Market Liberalisation and financial services legislation. Jon holds an M.A. in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe. He has a considerable experience in advising Embassies on their social media strategy, training Brussels-based NGOs and businesses on online communication for public affairs purposes and in managing large projects, such as the first ever Oxford University Environment Day while an Oxford University Student Union Executive Officer.
